James Blake & Bon Iver - Fall Creek Boys Choir

James Blake is one abstract dude. His songs and music offer something that I think no other artist offers. This song is a combination of him and Bon Iver, who, together, make a mean combo. James Blake's style really shows in this great joint effort by the two.

This song was released today on iTunes but has been on YouTube for a week now. To have a look at the Bon Iver's new album go to one of my older posts.
Check out some of James Blake's other stuff:

Snakadaktal - Chimera

This song has a pretty slow tempo. It is almost like a chilled out pop song, an odd blend that has been well executed. The chorus is pretty catchy. Enjoy!

The quintet still go to school at Rudolph Steiner School in Melbourne. They formed in early 2010. They have recently won the Triple J Unearthed Competition. Expect to hear more of this band in the future.

You can download and listen to the song here via Triple J. (To download right click and open the link)

Washington - Holy Moses

This song by Washington is very peculiar. It offers a very unique sound. Despite how abstract it is I still enjoy it. Washington is one of the few female artists I really enjoy. It's her latest single being released on August 5th of this year. Definately fresh.

Megan Washington was born in Papa New Guinea. She moved to Queensland in Australia at age 11. Later in persuit of a music career she moved to Melbourne as there was a greater demand for artists there. When she moved she had next to no money. Her song 'Clementine' was written on a ukelele as she could not even afford a guitar! Washington's story is encouraging to many wannabe artists. I will put some of her other songs below:

Standouts would be the singles 'Feeding Line' and 'Milk and Sticks'. Another song I enjoyed quite a bit is 'Part Time Believer.' Take a listen and enjoy!

Album of the Week no. 5: Rain on the Humming Wire

The Panics released their latest album just over a week ago now. It is an extremely enjoyable album. The standout song, without doubt, is 'Majesty'. The album was written in England and recorded in USA. Both a long way from their hometown of Melbourne. The band have recently announced a tour around Australia. For dates please visit The Panics' Website.

Unfortunately 'Majesty' is the only song of theirs which is on YouTube. So to check out some samples and buy the album visit the album's iTunes page.

As I said at the top of the post The Panics' hometown is Melbourne, Australia. Rain on the Humming Wire was released on July 29, 2011 through Dew Process. Their previous album, Cruel Guards, was very successful. I think this album will be even better than their last!

Black Light Dinner Party - Small Boxes

I recently found this song and I am really enjoying it. It reminds me a lot of a band called Young Love. They have a very similar sound, that's definately a good they as Young Love's album was my favourite album for a very long time.

Black Light Dinner Party are very mysterious. There is barely any information about them on the internet. They are not on iTunes either (the Australian iTunes anyway). Luckily you can download their songs off their Soundcloud account for free. I will post one of their other songs down below for those who want to hear more.
