Album of the Week no. 2: Head and the Heart

One week ago today I started the album of the week box. It sits in the top right hand corner of the blog. This is the first post on the album of the week despite being the second album. Last week I blogged about Bon Iver which then featured on my new idea of album of the week. The idea has now devoloped into what will be a weekly thing.

This week it is another self titled album, The Head and the Heart. This was released early this year in January. The Head and the Heart offer an earthy, relaxing voice in an equally relaxing album.

The Head and the Heart were formed in Seattle. Songwriters Jonathan Russell and Josiah met at an open mike night. They formed with the rest of the band. They spent the first half of 2010 touring, they had created a name for themselves. One big enough to attract offers from several record labels. They eventually signed with Sub Pop and released their album.
